Shane Goodwin, PhD
Dr. Shane Goodwin is the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and Executive Education at The Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. He is also a Board Leadership Fellow at the National Association of Corporate Directors and leads The Applied Corporate Governance Institute at The Center for Global Enterprise. Dr. Goodwin has 25 years of M&A and investment banking experience at Goldman, Sachs & Co., Citigroup, Wells Fargo Securities, and Credit Suisse/Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette. He has advised on over 250 M&A assignments totaling over $50 billion in transaction value and has executed over 100 public and private debt and equity investments totaling over $40 billion in value. In addition, Dr. Goodwin serves as an expert witness on complex litigation issues regarding M&A, corporate governance, capital markets, private equity, and corporate finance matters. He serves on the Board of Directors of OrthoMed Anesthesia, Harvard University Club of Dallas, NACD North Texas Chapter, the Investment Committee of the Dallas Regional Chamber, and on the Advisory Board of Truist Financial Corporation (NYSE: TFC), the sixth-largest commercial bank in the U.S. Dr. Goodwin's research is focused on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and shareholder activism. He was a Senior Fellow and Director at the Richman Center for Business, Law and Public Policy at Columbia University and a Senior Fellow at the Harvard Law School Program on Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation. He was also a Postdoctoral Fellow of Business Economics at Harvard Business School. Dr. Goodwin was a three-year letterman in football, earning All-American Scholar and Student-Athlete of the Year awards. He received the Outstanding Alumni Award and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at The University of Tulsa and the Saskatchewan Sport's Hall of Fame, as a member of the Canadian Junior Football League National Championship team.

D.T. Nguyen
D.T. Nguyen is the Chairman and CEO of Koan Health, a healthcare-focused IT services and consulting company based in Dallas. He has over 30 years of experience in the healthcare sector and is a national leader in transformative healthcare information technology. Under Nguyen's leadership, Koan Health has created breakthrough technologies for revenue cycle management and has since expanded to pursue a broader vision of healthcare value. The company's sophisticated predictive analytics enable organizations to provide personalized care that helps patients better manage chronic and complex conditions, ultimately leading to lower healthcare costs and improved health outcomes. Nguyen has led multiple companies through transformative M&A transactions and is a Member of the Community Advisory Board at the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center at UT Southwestern Medical Center for the past two years. He has also been a Member of the Board of Managers at JPS Health Network (Tarrant County Hospital District) for the past 11 years. Overall, Nguyen is a national leader in healthcare information technology who has led Koan Health to create breakthrough technologies for revenue cycle management and expand to pursue a broader vision of healthcare value. He has a proven track record of leading companies through transformative M&A transactions and has served on several healthcare advisory boards.

Clinical Advisory Board
Dr. Charles Cook
Dr. Charles Cook is a renowned Orthopedic Surgeon with over 30 years of experience in the restoration of foot and ankle disorders. He is currently the Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where he also trains residents at his private practice in Dallas and at the JPS Problem Foot and Ankle Clinic. Dr. Cook also serves as the head of John Peter Smith’s Foot and Ankle service. Dr. Cook received his medical degree from Louisiana State University, New Orleans in 1983. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center after finishing his internship in General Surgery at Parkland Memorial Hospital. Dr. Cook is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and completed his Foot and Ankle Fellowship under the guidance of Dr. Donald Mauldin. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Cook has also worked with several professional sports teams in the Dallas area, including the Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, and the Dallas Burn. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his practice, and is dedicated to providing exceptional care to his patients.

Dr. John S. Early
John S. Early, M.D. is a Board -Certified Orthopedic Surgeon presently in private practice as a partner at Texas Orthopaedic Associates LLP, a division of Ortho Lonestar. He is an internationally recognized educator for orthopedic management of foot and ankle maladies. He has served as a consultant developer for many companies over the years and holds a number of patents for the design of orthopedic implants. Dr. Early has served as the Medical Director for Medhab Inc. since its inception. In addition to his regular patient care duties, Dr. Early serves as Chair for the Board of Managers at Texas Institute for Surgery at Texas Health Dallas. Dr. Early is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended Princeton University earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. His Medical Degree was earned at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas with a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at The University of Washington Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Early is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons as well as the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. Dr. Early lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife and enjoys being with family and friends. His outside interests include boating, traveling, fishing, and skiing.

Dr. Ming Luong, DScs
Dr. Ming Luong, DScs, is an IT professional with 35 years of experience in Healthcare IT. Over her career, she has served as IT Delivery Director, Enterprise Information Integration Director, and Data Management Director for many prominent healthcare organizations, including Northwell Health, New York Presbyterian Medical Center, Montefiore Medical Center, AvMed, and Stanford Hospital, under the stewardship of Perot Systems, Dell Services, and NTT Data. Luong earned her Doctor of Computer Science degree from Colorado Technical University, a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, with a concentration in Database Administration, from the University of Denver. She currently lives in Highland Village, TX and enjoys oil painting, gardening, and spending time with her two daughters, Sarah and Christine.

Alex Dao
Alex Dao has been the president of OrthoMed since its foundation. She has a Master's in Finance from the University of Texas at Dallas, and a Master of Education from the University of North Texas. Alex is currently working towards her PhD in Educational Psychology. In her free time, she likes to garden and travel with her kids.

Chief Operations Officer
Viet Luong
Major General (Retired) Viet Luong serves as OrthoMed’s Chief Operating Officer. He emigrated from Vietnam with his family to the United States in 1975 as a political refugee, upon the fall of Saigon. Luong received his commission as a U.S. Army Infantry Officer upon graduating from the University of Southern California in 1987, serving on active duty for the next 34 years until his recent retirement. Throughout his career, Luong had commanded at the rifle platoon to flag level and participated in numerous operational and combat deployments. Outside of combat, Luong also served in several critically important strategic assignments, including tours as the Deputy Director for Pakistan Afghanistan Coordination Cell, where he assisted in the shaping national policy for the region, and Army G-8 Director of Joint and Integration, where he was responsible for the Army Modernization Strategy and facilitating the Army Requirements Oversight Council (AROC). Most recently, he served as the Commanding General of U.S. Army Japan, from 2018 to 2021. In this capacity, he effectively operationalized his command and improved U.S. Army force posture in Japan in the face of superpowers competition against near-peer adversaries in the region. Luong holds a Bachelor Degree in Biology from the University of Southern California and a Master of Military Arts and Science from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. In 2012, he attended Stanford University as a National Security Fellow, where he focused on U.S.- China Policy under the tutelage of Former Secretary of Defense, Dr. William Perry. In addition to his military awards and recognitions, he is a recipient of the 2010 Daughters of the American Revolution Americanism Award, 2016 Andrew Carnegie Great Immigrant, USCIS 2021 Outstanding American by Choice, 2018 Republic of Korea Cheonsu Medal, and 2021 Japan Imperial Order of the Rising Sun Gold and Silver.

Steve Ratton
Steve Ratton is a proactive Finance and Strategy Executive Leader with a history of data-driven decision-making and consulting for companies of all sizes. He has a track record of growing pre-revenue startups, IPO’s, and planning/negotiating multibillion-dollar leveraged buyouts. As an insightful Business Development Strategist, he excels in leading financial turnarounds and resolving complex challenges. Steve applies his versatile skill set across domains, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), sustainable business growth strategy, accounting, streamlining finance functions, establishing budgets and strategic plans, and preparing for sales or ownership transitions and auditing. With his expertise and experience, Steve Ratton drives optimal solutions and contributes to the financial success of organizations.

Javi Virk
Javi Virk has both his MBA and Masters in Finance, in addition to his undergraduate degree, from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. His expertise is in operations, but his skills also include strategic outreach and customer relations, business development, and operational modeling to scale teams. As a leader at OrthoMed Anesthesia, he streamlines and optimizes all operations and operates in a corporate financial role with a focus on maximizing revenue and undertaking expansive billing segments. In addition, he liaises with senior leadership and various other personnel and teams to ensure the company’s operational and financial support structures are driving the business forward with minimal expenditures. Javi previously lived in California and moved to Texas with his family shortly before joining the company.

Dr. Stephen Campbell
Dr. Stephen Campbell, M.D., is a highly accomplished anesthesiologist known for providing exceptional medical care and advancing the field with expertise in nerve block techniques and pain management. As the Chief Medical Officer at OrthoMed Staffing LLC, he practices anesthesia while managing clinical operations and overseeing other healthcare professionals. Dr. Campbell also holds the position of Chair of Anesthesiology at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. Dr. Campbell earned his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Medical University before completing his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and a fellowship at UC San Diego in regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine. He is also an active member of professional organizations, including the ASA and AOA, and has received accolades for his contributions. He has authored book chapters and presented academic projects, exemplifying his commitment to advancing knowledge. Passionate about providing care that is safe, high-quality, and evidence-based, Dr. Stephen Campbell continues to make significant contributions to the medical field through his expertise, leadership, and dedication to ongoing learning and research. Fluent in English, Spanish, Mandarin, and French, Dr. Campbell effectively communicates with diverse patient populations. In his free time he enjoys playing basketball and playing the piano.

Dr. Saurav Dhakhwa
Dr. Saurav Dhakhwa is a highly skilled anesthesiologist with a wealth of experience and expertise in his field. He has held various key positions in prestigious medical institutions, showcasing his commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of anesthesiology. Currently serving as the Regional Medical Director and Anesthesiologist at Orthomed Anesthesia, Dr. Dhakhwa provides strategic leadership and oversees anesthesia services. His role involves ensuring the highest quality of care for patients undergoing anesthesia procedures. Prior to this, he served as the Medical Director at Northland Total Joint Center in Kansas City, where he played a pivotal role in managing and coordinating anesthesia services for joint surgeries. He also held the position of Regional Chief Ambulatory Anesthesia at Envision Healthcare, where he demonstrated his expertise in delivering anesthesia care in outpatient settings. Dr. Dhakhwa's journey in medicine began at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he completed his undergraduate studies in a Bachelor of Science program. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine degree from Saint Louis University. Following medical school, he completed his Residency/Internship in Anesthesiology at Henry Ford Hospital, specializing in the field. His extensive training and dedication to his craft have made him a highly respected professional. Dr. Saurav Dhakhwa's commitment to patient care, along with his expertise in anesthesiology, has earned him a strong reputation in the medical community. He continues to make significant contributions to the field through his leadership, clinical excellence, and commitment to advancing anesthesia practices.

Linda Wong
Dr. Linda Wong is an Attending Anesthesiologist and the Regional Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at Orthomed Anesthesia in San Antonio, TX. She joined the practice as its first full-time local employee and has played a vital role in its remarkable expansion, now comprising over 30 providers and 22 facilities. As the regional CMO, Dr. Wong serves as a liaison between local anesthesia providers, surgical centers/facilities, and company administration. Her responsibilities encompass providing anesthesia care at various locations, including hospitals and outpatient surgery centers, covering both pediatric and adult cases. Dr. Wong possesses a strong academic background and diverse professional experience. She earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University at Buffalo, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Wong holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacology & Toxicology with a minor in Medical Anthropology from the University at Buffalo, Honors College, graduating summa cum laude. She completed her General Surgery internship within Northwell Health in Long Island, NY and her Anesthesiology Residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. This comprehensive training has equipped her with a well-rounded understanding of patient care and surgical procedures. Apart from her clinical work, Dr. Wong actively engages in research endeavors and has contributed to several publications as a co-author. Her research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including congenital anomalies of the tracheobronchial tree and its impact on anesthesia, sphenopalatine ganglion block for post-dural puncture headache, and the efficacy of quadratus lumborum nerve block for pain management. During the pandemic, she served as a co-investigator for a study evaluating the role of pre-operative CT chest scans in suspected COVID-19 patients requiring emergent surgery. Dr. Wong's commitment to remaining at the forefront of medical advancements, combined with her expertise in anesthesia, ensures the highest level of safety, comfort, and positive outcomes for her patients. She is dedicated to optimizing patient-centered care and actively collaborates with facilities to enhance healthcare delivery. Driven by her passion for continuous improvement, she works closely with medical staff, administrators, and interdisciplinary teams to implement best practices and quality control measures. Through fostering strong relationships and promoting open communication, Dr. Wong creates a supportive environment that prioritizes patient well-being and enhances the overall healthcare experience. Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Wong cherishes spending quality time with her husband and young daughter, exploring the beauty of the great outdoors.

Andrew Sanders
Andrew Sanders Jr. is an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with a remarkable career spanning over 20 years in various medical and administrative roles. With an MSN, MBA, and MHA, he brings a unique combination of clinical expertise and managerial acumen to his profession. Currently serving as the Chief Anesthetist Officer at OrthoMed Staffing LLC, Andrew plays a pivotal role in managing anesthesia services provided by the company. He conducts market analysis to gauge the demand for anesthesia services, and his efforts have led to improved quality through the recruitment and training of highly qualified anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and other anesthesia providers. Prior to his current role, Andrew held positions of increasing responsibility, including Team Lead and Staff CRNA at SouthWest Anesthesia Team and Staff Nurse Anesthetist at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital. Notably, he served as the Department Head and Chief Nurse Anesthetist at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, where he successfully managed a team of 31 CRNAs and acted as the Chief of OB Anesthesia, ensuring the coordination of the latest obstetric care modalities. Throughout his career, Andrew has demonstrated a commitment to education and training. As a Staff Certified Nurse Anesthetist and Instructor at Naval Hospital San Diego, he provided instruction to physician staff, residents, and student nurse anesthetists, while managing the regional acute care service. As a student at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, he excelled academically and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Beyond his clinical and managerial roles, Andrew has made significant contributions to the field through research and publication. His work, titled "Effects of a 30-mL Epidural Normal Saline Bolus on Time to Full Motor Recovery in Parturient Who Received Patient-Controlled Epidural Analgesia With 0.125% Bupivacaine With 2 µg/mL of Fentanyl," was published in the American Association of Nurse Anesthetist Journal. Andrew's dedication, leadership, and extensive experience make him a respected professional in the field of anesthesia. He remains committed to providing outstanding anesthesia care, improving patient outcomes, and contributing to the advancement of the profession.

Regional Director of Operations
Afsha Muneer
Afsha Muneer was originally born in London and moved to Florida at the age of four. She has lived in Dallas for over 10 years. She studied at Stetson University and earned a degree in Integrative Health Science in 2010 and in Health Information Management. Afsha is a Registered Health Information Technician with over 9 years of experience in information technology and compliance. Her expertise in compliance, safety and quality control has made her the leader of the due diligence SOC 2 Compliance HIPAA/HITECH Certification for our practice. When she’s not busy in the office or recruiting new anesthesia providers, she likes to travel or go for a run.

Regional Director of Operations
Tim Tran
Tim Tran is a regional director of operations for the Dallas/Fort Worth region. He supervises company operations and logistics support for three hospitals and five ambulatory surgery centers. Tim is a Texas native and 10-year United States Army Veteran, with combat tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. He currently serves as a United States Army Drill Sergeant in the Army Reserves, responsible for the planning, execution, and logistical support of a program of instruction for over 200+ recruits. When he’s not busy directing operations or instructing recruits, Tim enjoys fishing and the outdoors.

Maryann Vu
Maryann Vu, a Regional Director of Operations and Certified Surgical First Assistant with seven years of experience in the surgical suite. Maryann utilizes her clinical experience and knowledge to serve as a liaison between multi-state-wide providers and the Operations team here. In the role as a Regional Director of Operations, she oversees multiple facilities and ensures that they are running smoothly and efficiently. Her role is to manage budgets, staffing, and inventory, and develop policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes and employee satisfaction for her region. Maryann was born and raised in Texas and currently has no plans to leave! When she's not working, she enjoys spending time with her two adopted cats, Binx and Mango in addition to wanderlusting to far-flung corners of the world.

Director of Revenue Cycle Management
Steven Mullen
Steven Mullen brings over a decade of experience in revenue cycle leadership for hospital systems, clinics and physician practices. After beginning his career in direct patient care, he quickly transitioned to a hospital admissions position where he progressed throughout the years taking on increasingly complex leadership roles with greater responsibility including revenue cycle management, vendor relations, payor relations, expense management and talent management. Steven attended the University of North Texas and is currently pursuing his MBA.
