Andrew Sanders, DNAP, is a seasoned and highly accomplished Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) with an illustrious career spanning over 28 years. Bringing a wealth of experience in both clinical and administrative capacities, Dr. Sanders holds a DNAP, MSN, and MBA—offering a powerful combination of clinical expertise and executive leadership to advance OrthoMed Anesthesia’s mission. His distinctive blend of clinical proficiency and managerial prowess consistently elevates the standards of anesthesia care while driving operational excellence across healthcare settings.

As Chief Administrative Officer, Dr. Sanders oversees the strategic and administrative operations of OrthoMed's, ensuring optimal clinical performance, regulatory compliance, and provider engagement across multiple surgical and hospital sites. He leads initiatives that drive organizational efficiency, enhance patient safety, and align staffing models with market demands and emerging technologies. His leadership is instrumental in shaping OrthoMed’s long-term growth strategy, forging collaborative partnerships with health systems, and cultivating a cohesive, high-performing provider culture.

Before transitioning into his executive leadership role, Dr. Sanders served as Chief Anesthetist Officer at OrthoMed, where he directed clinical operations, provider recruitment, and quality improvement initiatives across the organization. Before joining OrthoMed, Dr Sanders had a distinguished career as a Commander in the United States Navy, holding multiple high-impact leadership roles. As Department Head and Chief Nurse Anesthetist at Joint Command Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, he led the anesthesia department, oversaw obstetric anesthesia services, and provided clinical instruction to physician staff, residents, and student nurse anesthetists. He also served as a Division Officer at Navy Hospital San Diego, where he managed the Regional Acute Care Service and contributed to clinical education and operational readiness.

Sanders’s military tenure also included service as the S3 operations and intelligence training officer for a Medical Logistics Training Battalion at Camp Pendleton, California. In this role, he was responsible for designing and delivering comprehensive combat readiness training—including marksmanship, tactical casualty care, and battlefield life-saving interventions—to over 800 Marines and sailors in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. In addition, as clinical coordinator, he managed the healthcare needs of 450 Navy personnel across multiple clinics spanning three states, and oversaw 26 Emergency Medical Technicians to ensure continuous, 24/7 medical coverage for Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.

Dr. Sanders’s contributions extend to research and professional publication, with works including:
• "Effects of a 30-mL Epidural Normal Saline Bolus on Time to Full Motor Recovery in Parturients Who Received Patient-Controlled Epidural Analgesia With 0.125% Bupivacaine With 2 µg/mL of Fentanyl"
• "The Future of Combat Trauma Anesthesia in an Austere Environment (CTA in AE)"
• Doctoral capstone project: "Evaluating the Impact of an Educational Intervention on CRNAs' Knowledge and Implementation of Deep Vein Thrombosis Prophylaxis Strategies"
